Rule

Keep the i-adjective as is for dictionary form. Drop い to attach suffixes like く (adverb) or かった (past).

Worked examples

高い -> 高い, 楽しい -> 楽しい, 寒い -> 寒い

Exceptions

いい (good) becomes よい when conjugating (e.g., よかった, よく).
