Used for

Expressing being forced or made to do something against one's will.

Rule

Ichidan: Drop る and add させられる. Godan: Change the final u-row sound to the a-row and add せられる (or される for su-ending verbs). Irregular: する -> させられる, くる -> こさせられる.

Worked examples

食べる -> 食べさせられる, 書く -> 書かせられる, する -> させられる

Exceptions

For godan verbs ending in す, 書かす can become 書かされる (shorter contraction).
