Used for: Expressing compulsion or permission (making or letting someone do something).
Rule: Ichidan: Drop る and add させる. Godan: Change the final u-row sound to the a-row and add せる. Irregular: する -> させる, くる -> こさせる.
Worked examples: 食べる -> 食べさせる, 書く -> 書かせる, する -> させる
Exceptions: Godan verbs ending in う change to わせる.
