How it works

Attaches to nouns or quantities to indicate an approximate amount or a minimum standard.

Example

Tokyo kara Osaka made kyu jikan gurai kakarimasu. It takes about nine hours from Tokyo to Osaka.

Versus

ごろ (goro) is strictly used for specific clock times or dates, whereas くらい (kurai) is used for durations and amounts.
